Find the right one dating app for you!
”There’s an app for that!” I bet you’ve heard this phrase more than once and you’re perfectly aware of the fact that there is an app for pretty much everything – including dating! Dating apps have become more and more common, and most people who are active in the dating world have tried out at least one of them. But with so many of them available to you, how can you know which dating app is best for you?
Some of the most popular dating sites have proven to be rather fruitless for some people, whereas some of the most obscure ones have provided people with what they’ve always wanted. The trick for finding the right app for you is of course being well informed in terms of everything that is available to you…
I wanted to write this article today on some of the best dating apps so that you don’t waste any of your time! It’s great to try things out, but if you know what you’re looking for and you want to reduce the risk of meeting someone interesting who is not looking for the same thing that you are, you’re in the right place!
In this article I’m going to outline some of the best dating apps that you might not be aware of! We all know about Tinder, Match, and eHarmony, but what about all the other gems that are out there?
Dating apps: Why they’re so great and why they sometimes have a bad rap
In today’s day and age, there are millions of single people. Though there are so many, meeting the right person has gotten harder and harder. Our schedules are busier and busier, and our culture doesn’t really help the situation. We live in a consumer’s society, and it’s slowly infiltrating our minds as well. We always want more, or something different (because we have so many possibilities available to us all the time) that if someone is looking for something serious, it becomes challenging.
The beauty of dating sites is that they make it easy for a person to define exactly what they’re looking for in someone. As time goes on, these dating apps and dating sites are becoming more and more organized and they ask more information of their members so that their algorithms can really match the right people together.
One of the best things about these apps is that they put you in control. You don’t have to settle for blind dates set up by your friends or family anymore.
Even if you’re just looking to have some fun, you’re realizing that it isn’t always that easy to meet someone who’s on the same page.
The good news is that you can find the perfect app for dating for exactly what you’re looking for!
You can learn how to seduce online and find the perfect match for you. There are thousands of profiles that you can browse and you’ll always be sure that they match your criteria. These apps group everything you’re looking for into one place and they save you an incredible amount of time.
Instead of having to go out and hope that you’ll meet someone by chance, you can take matters into your own hands and find people that are doing the exact same thing. I mean, just think about how much time you can save!
That said, a lot of people are still hesitant about trying out apps for dating. I’ve seen some people turn to dating apps as a “last resort,” as if it were something to be ashamed of!
Sometimes my coachees will say something along the lines of, “I want to meet someone but I don’t want to do it online. That would make me feel desperate!” I cannot really wrap my head around this way of thinking… You have an incredible tool for meeting someone amazing at your fingertips, why would it be “desperate” to take advantage of it?
So many aspects of our lives are made easier by the internet, so why would dating have to be an exception? Sure, I know that it might seem less romantic and ideally you’d like to meet someone spontaneously, and maybe even in a situation worthy of a Hollywood movie… But is it really the most important thing?
The way you meet someone isn’t as important as what you share.
Now, these dating apps are also commonly used for one night stands (it of course depends on the app) and a person that wants something serious isn’t going to be interested in this type of exchange. This is perfectly valid as well, but like I said above. There is an app for every type of relationship. All you have to do is choose the one that best suits you.
I can’t deny the fact that there are some people on these dates that are not clear about their intentions, which in turn makes it tough for someone who is interested in something more/less serious with them. This can leave a bad taste in a person’s mouth.
I do however see many people give up after one bad experience. Even the best app for dating can’t guarantee that you’re going to have an incredible connection with the very first person you go out with!
Make sure you go into it with an open mind and focus on having fun. Like I keep saying, there’s no sense in putting any pressure on yourself!
Top dating apps: Finding the perfect one for you!
I’m sure you’ve heard of Tinder, Match, eHarmony, and all of those dating apps, so I wanted to focus a bit more on all of the other apps that are out there. You may have even tried these apps already and found that they’re a bit too vague or overwhelming.
Perhaps you just weren’t inspired by the people that you met and you’d like to know more about what else is out there. I’m going to break the next part into three categories, but I encourage you to read them all. It’s always best to be aware of all the options!
By the way, I suggest trying multiple apps. The perfect match for you might be be on only one, so make sure that you take advantage of all the possibilities that are available to you! And like I said above, don’t be discouraged if you don’t immediately find exactly what you were looking for.
Be light hearted and open minded, and you can even use these apps to practice flirting online and becoming more and more seductive!
There are a few rules to keep in mind when you begin using a dating app and when you being chatting with people.
One of the most important things to keep in mind is that you have to have a good photo of yourself. Please stay away from any webcam photos that you take on your computer in your living room or bedroom… Don’t post over the top pictures in which you’re posing in your bathing suit on a beach or modeling something. Choose a photo in which you look natural with a nice background. Post something inviting and authentic.
When creating your profile on any dating application, put some thought into your “about me” section. It doesn’t have to be forty-seven pages long. Just write something about yourself that makes someone want to know a bit more about you. Don’t reveal everything right then and there! Remember, it has to be enticing and should show a potential match what you might have in common.
Don’t leave the description blank (unless you aren’t looking for anything more than a roll in the hay!) because doing so would send the message that you’re not really interested in anything serious.
The last thing I want to suggest before we jump into some of the best online dating apps is this: Patience is a virtue. I know, I know, you’ve heard it a million times, but trust me! It goes hand in hand with the concept of not placing pressure on yourself. Good things take time, and though using a dating app is going to considerably augment your chances of finding someone compatible with you, it doesn’t mean that you should immediately jump into a relationship with them.
Take the time to get to know one another. Sometimes allowing the flame to burn too hot too soon will end up putting the fire out altogether.
As I said, I’m not going to go into detail about dating apps like Tinder, because everyone knows all about them already. If you haven’t tried already, it’s fun to give it a go, but you don’t have to stop there!

Happn
“The app to discover the people you’ve crossed paths with, the people you like, [and] the people you’d like to find again.” If you came across someone in real life, it will put their profile on your timeline in the app. Like Tinder, if you both “like” each other, you’re allowed to being chatting. A new feature on the app makes it possible to send songs to each other. If you don’t want to see a specific person on happn anymore, you just click on the cross button.
Hinge
This one is great if you’re not in love with the idea of dating a total stranger. It connects you with friends of people you already know and connects your social networks. It can be reassuring knowing that you have a friend in common and what’s more, you know you have something to talk about right off the bat. If you meet someone in real life and want to know if they’re single without asking your friends in common, the app lets you do just that. You can link your Facebook profile and browse friends of friends that are single and on the app.
Clover
This dating app claims to be a mix of some of the top dating apps like Tinder, Match, OKCupid, and Zoosk. Basically it’s a mix of all the apps that are so well known that I’m not going to spend time going into great detail about them in this article. The filtering system is very well organized, you can set up dates, organize common interests, have topic based group chats, view full screen photos…
Once
Here is an app that is perfect for people that are tired of having their mailboxes being filled up with messages from people that are interested. This app gives you one match a day and you have 24 hours to decide whether or not you like each other.
Fliqpic
With this dating app you can video chat with your potential date before actually going out, so you can really see if you’re interested of not! We all know that sometimes people post deceiving photos on their profiles, but with this app you’ve got nothing to worry about.

Women run the show on this app created by the former executives of Tinder. Like Tinder, you can swipe right to “like” someone and left to pass. If the person you like liked you too, then you are able to talk, but only women can initiate the conversation! Women have 24 hours to reach out before the connection disappears.

Though it’s not as popular in the US, this is actually one of the largest online dating apps in the entire world. This app uses your Facebook profile to link you with friends of friends. Guys get 21 matches every day at noon and they either like or pass. It’s a simplified approach and the app claims to be “designed for singles who want to find something real with little or no effort.”
The 9 best dating app when you’re looking for something specific
Now that we’ve gone over some of the best dating apps that appeal to people on a broad scale, let’s take a look at some that are more catered to specific criteria.
For music lovers
Tastebuds is an app that connects people based on their love for music. You can scan your iPhone music library or post your favorite bands and take it from there. It’s primarily used as a romantic platform but people have been known to make great new friends with common interests as well.
If you’re looking for a one night stand
Pure focuses on cutting to the chase. It calls itself the Uber for Dates and says “it’s all about real dates right now, and making real-life connections.” Users post a meeting request that lasts for an hour, and if you accept someone that’s up for meeting up, you can take it from there. For ladies it’s free, and men can try it out for a week for free, but then have to pay for continued use.
For someone interested in astrology
Align is great for anyone that likes to read their horoscope on a regular basis. The app explores romantic compatibility and astrology and you could meet the right person for you!
Emotional compatibility with a bit of a flair

For marijuana enthusiasts
If you’re looking for someone with whom you could share your love for Mary Jane, HighThere! is the dating app for you. Users can even add a video to their profile so you steer clear of any “catfishing.”
For the LGBT community
While it’s true that a large number of dating apps cater to heterosexual relationships, it doesn’t meant that there isn’t anything else out there! One of the biggest dating apps, OKCupid offers twenty-two options for gender identity and twelve for sexual orientation, while being able to hide or share their profiles with straight people. Her is an app developed for women who identify as being gay or bisexual, and while being a dating app it also has a community feel in which users can share content and events, and mark other users as friends instead of romantic matches.
Some dating apps for men that identify as being gay or bisexual are Grindr, Scruff, Hornet and GROWLr. These tend to be used for casual hook ups, but GROWLr has an events feature that allows you to bring some friends to an event. Surge is one of the top rated dating apps for gay men and allows users to filter based on serious relationships, or quick hookups.
For elitists
Are you looking for someone who has the same “social status” as you do? The League links to your Facebook and LinkedIn, and users have to go through a very detailed application process. Yes, not everyone is granted entry, and once you’re in, you set very specific criteria. If you’re looking for someone with a certain job, education, and status, this is the app for you.
If you’re looking for someone with the same faith
If sharing the same religious beliefs is one of the most important things to you, there are certain apps like Minder, CDate, and Jswipe that could be great for you. These apps for Muslims, Christians and people of the Jewish faith all link to your Facebook profile but don’t share any details on the social network.
For anyone who wants to find someone that dislikes the same things they do…
Hater is a dating app that brings people together who hate the same things, so that they can hate them together. Really! It’s always great to find people with whom you have things in common, even if it’s things you can’t stand!
Once you’ve chosen the dating apps that look the best to you, don’t hesitate to reach out for any help! I’m just an email away 🙂

“Is the C930e good for overhead shots? I practice crafts, and i need a good webcam that can give sharp closeup overhead shots on what I’m working on. The Logitech I have now (much older than these) is just too blurry. I cannot get it to focus sharply on close ups, or on more distant shots even. When it does focus, its very slow. Thanks for this video.
